Need help with hue/sat layers

I use car photos to learn with, since they seem the easiest. I have a image with two different graphics overlapping, they are two separat hue saturation layer adjustments, both using a different selection. Th parts that overlap, the colors change and I cant figure out how to mak one completely cover the other. Its like opacity doesnt matter, th piece below still shows through. You can DL my .psd to see what I mean I want the purple jags completely covering the green squigs. I’d lik to know how to do it, not just have someone do it for me.

On your top layer, select Blending Options, and experiment with the Knockout settings in the Advanced Blending section.

This is a fairly complex concept. It’s worth it to then quickly read the section in the manual about Knockout options. Just pick out one or two things to try and don’t get bogged down in the details.
