Look into your filter options and filter on @mail.forum4designers.com I’ve never used OE and never will so I can’t tell you anything about configuring it.

Well, the 1st complaint goes to Giganews to let them
know they’re being used as a relay from a web forum.

Now I’m not trying to start a flame war, but I am asking a valid question…if the posts are on topic (not saying they all are, but then neither are some of the reg posts here (e.g. ‘The Five Kinds of Sex’ or Turkey Dinner discussions…both of which I enjoyed, BTW) how is posting to a public usenet forum from a *gateway* any different than posting using a regular client? I don’t know that it is and although you could make the argument that a gateway involves ‘sharing’ a personal account Giganews AUP doesn’t say that you can’t, just that the account holder will be held responsible for all users posts.

Again, I’m not advocating one view or another I just found the argument interesting and was wondering what others thought.

Which is one good reason to get them nuked. Allowing
3rd party relays is an open invitation to abuse.

Again, I’m not advocating one view or another I just found the argument interesting and was wondering what others thought.

For the most part it’s the consistent "I’m really fucking cheap and I want someone to do expensive work for next to nothing" garbage that spews forth from there that annoys me.

Cry babies like you always use "abuse" as your excuse to try an censor other people. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not…on can only hope that it will not work in this case

You wouldn’t be ‘censored’ and certainly not by me.

Well, you see, I’ve got a legitimate NNTP connection to the news server I pay for access to, I’ve the feeling you don’t.

IIRC, if you’re using OE, right click on the message and you should find an option to block them. If not, select the message and go to the filter options menu which is definitely there somewhere 🙂

You should be able to do it automatically with OE, but just remember to filter on the domain and not the whole address.

Thanks, I didn’t dig deep enough, I found how you can block a whole domain in OE now.
