I’ve just recorded some images onto CD using a Mac and Titanium Toast. It asked me if I wanted to verify it, so I agreed (not sure what ‘verifying’ is).

Then I realised I’d been recording onto a disc that I’d previously put images (and other files) onto with a PC and Windows XP (it’s a ‘write once’ CD, BTW).

Now the only files that come up (whether the CD is in a Mac or a PC) are the ones I put on with the Mac.

These previous files are very important to me, so is there any way I can get them back?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (especially if simply worded – I’m useless with computers).

You might try CD roller (on a Windows PC) from

You can try to use Nero.
Go to Extra/ Save Tracks, choose the optical support where the cd is, choose the track do you want to save and the folder where you’ll put your track, select to save as an *.ISO file. Than open the file with WinRar or a similar program.
That’s all.

As you seem keen to correct the grammatical errors of others! – I feel obliged to point out that the above phrase should read "They are lost", or alternatively "They’re lost". The word "their" is possessive, i.e. ‘Of them or themselves’

Yes, you can recover the files.

The CD you have written is a multi session CD, and there are any number of ways to access data from deleted files by accessing the previous sessions.

OSX may be able to select the sessions itself, or the Toaster Lite software. Look under "Multi Session" in the documentation that came with your CD burner.
