Why, oh why, does my PS6 hate me so?!

I’m trying to type text in PS6 and although all the settings are correctly .. er .. set, the type comes out tiny – so tiny that to even get anywhere near anything resembling something that can be read by the naked eye you have to set the type to 1200pt – which is the highest photoshop will allow!

Please help … I think I’ll jump out the window otherwise! 🙁

Maybe your image is huge. Zoom in at 100% and then type.

I think I’ll jump out the window otherwise

Make sure that your’e on the first floor.

Hiya – thanks for that – but no, it’s zoomed in at 100% and the text is still tiny!

Is it with all fonts? Try one of the regulars. (Times, Arial, nothing fancy, no effects). Rob

Hi Rob – still does it 🙁

Haven’t had this happen before – it’s wierd. The only way I can get around it is by typing at 1200pt – which comes out how I’d expect – say 18pts to look. Then I have to transform that to a larger size as pshop wont let you enter a number larger than 1200!

Try trashing your prefs and see if that fixes it. Details in the FAQs.

I assume it wasn’t always so. what has changed? Are the fonts OK in Word for instance? Do you have an other image with a (still good) type layer in it? If so what happens when you edit that?

I don’t have further clues at this moment.
I’ll be back on line in two hours.
