Has anyone tried to program the P-shop CS keyboard shortcuts for the pen tools to emulate the keyboard controls of the pen tool in P-Shop 4.0. I tried on the demo, but could not make the desired changes. Barry in Adobe Sales assures me that I can make the changes I want within the full version, but this ng has been very helpful, so I thought I’d ask you folks first.

To make myself perfectly clear, here’s how it works in P-shop 4, and what I wish to duplicate in CS

I select the Direct Selection Tool by pressing "p" enough times to cycle through the pen tool options. I hold down CTRL+Alt to get the add/subtract point tool; or I can hold down just the Ctrl key to get the convert point tool. Ctrl+shift allows me to convert a point and constrain the direction in which I can drag the new handles. Releasing these keys returns me to the Direct Selection tool.

My guess is that if I can create any of the key combination plus click shortcuts, I can do them all.

If anyone has the time or inclination to follow this up, I will be most grateful.

Thanx!

You may already know this but to me it seems easier.
In CS when you select the pen, the one with the small x, it will automatically add or subtract points. You can see the small x change to + or – as you hover over the path or the point.
By holding the ctrl key it changes to the direct selection tool. Holding down the alt key changes the pen to the convert a point to drag the handles. Alt-Shift constrains the angles.
FWIW I keep my pinky on the ctrl key and the first finger on the Alt key. Works great for me and I hope this helps.
Oh, I dont know how to change the short cut keys 🙂

Almost forgot. Be sure and check auto add and delete in options bar. Tom

Thank you so much for your help! (You must be left-handed, too.) This is just what I needed to know.
