photoshop CS + mustek scanner

Hi

I have recently ugraded to windows XP to be able to run PS CS and since then unable to run my mustek scanner a3ep even with the latest driver and mustek support…the plug-in within PS CS just show on the screen for a split second and disappear …sometimes if it stays there and start to scan with my settings the result doesn t shows on screen so any one else with that problem or an hint maybe….????

Did mustek come with stand alone software? Can you run it stand alone? Can you Import via Twain from any other twain compliant application (MS Photoeditor, PaintShop Pro, etc.)? Did you update Mustek after the PSCS installation?

If it runs fine stand alone, and is recognized by other applications, I would try to reinstall Photoshop. If it doesn’t run stand alone, or if it doesn’t work from within other applications, it’s definately something to do with the twain driver. Then I would reinstall the mustek drivers and if that didn’t work, I’d completely uninstall the mustek, and make sure no traces were left, then I’d reinstall – between reboots that is.

I had a cannon scanner and had the same problem. I just uninstalled the scanner and when through the installation for a second time. Then finally everything worked. But I did have to up grade my cannon drivers for XP drivers.
