text with texture

hello ppl, know its a stupid Q, but i really cant recall how to do this any more. Its been a long time ago i open PS. Any ways ….

I have a text, with a layer under it which is a pic. I want the text to show the pic not a color…. (gotta use mask, right? but cant remember how?!) And then i want a thin black outlining the text…

Move the text layer under the image layer, then point at the boundary between the 2 layers in the Layers palette, the hold ALT while you click.

Then add a layer style [stroke] to the text layer.

Theer are other ways to do this, of course …
