Hi Shoppers,

On the Adobe site I saw that Photoshop CS can be purchased for $ 649. Then I switched to a European site (i.e. the Dutch one) and saw that it would cost 1059 Euros (ex. VAT), which is about $ 1200….:-((((( From the discussion archives I understood this had something to do with supply and demand, so……

Can anyone tell me what happens if I order the US-version at Adobe US, or (even cheaper) at Amazon?

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Carlo

You looked at the price for a Dutch language version. The full English version costs EUR 729.00 (pre-order ex. VAT) on the Adobe Eurostore site.

Other than transportation cost, VAT and probably import duty being added, probably nothing different, but you can get a UK English version at the Adobe Eurostore cheaper than you think..

Either they don’t deliver or you get no service in case of problems.

Adobe "protects" their dealers giving them a good margin….

Some suggest this is because Adobe believes in americans being more honest (bruhahaha, ROTFLSTC) regarding software piracy. Others believe this is to make more money from europeans who are silly enough to pay senseless prices for software that doesn’t pay in it’s originating country.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the bad news.
I hope I can work a way around it, and that I am not pushed into piracy… 😉

Not good at all, but this is why Adobe requires CS be activated.

After having spent 40 days and 40 nights pondering the subject, the best Jimmy could come up with in comp.graphics.apps.photoshop was this:

but the version recently posted in alt.binaries.comp apparently gets around the activation thingy.
I do not agree with software piracy, but it seems there are a lot more people working on getting round activation stuff, than are working on the actual programs.
How about looking on e-bay for legitimate copies from the usa? I am sure some enterprising yank would like to make a bit of cash that way? —
