hi,

Ive seen heaps of sites with a diagonal line pattern for a background and Ive really wanted to do this but I don’t know how – it seems simple enough though. All it is, is a few diagoanl lines (or alot depending on the page size), with a tiny, but notacable space b/w them.

thanks

Try creating a series of horizontal lines holding down the shift key so they draw perfectly straight. Then rotate the image 45 degrees to make the lines diagonal. Experiment. Crop out a section that will tile when specified as the page background.

Or, instead of doing it the hardest way possible, create a square document with a transparent background, create your diagonal design on that with black, and then save it as a pattern.

On the desired image, use the Fill tool, select pattern, and pick the diagonal design you created.
