I use 7.0 and XP Pro, and am trying to edit some .png files that I put on my HDD from a game CD (Tribes2). I have read the FAQ’s and Help (both Photoshop and Windows), but I must be missing something simple methadummy. When I open the .png skin file it is transparent, I mean I can see some stuff very faintly, but it is not clear enough to work with. I have tried saving the .png as a .psd but when I open it, it looks the same and is unusable. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Billy,

If it’s a skin, and partially transparent, you may not want to mess with the transparency so that it remains compatable with your game, which I know nothing about.

Try adding a layer beneath the one with your image (layers palette at the bottom), and fill that layer with white (or black). That may help you see what you’re trying to edit. When you’re done, delete the bottom layer before saving.

Peace,
Tony
