Hi,

I was following the displacement tutorial on www.gurusnetwork.com, and all went good till I got to the juicy stuff of Glassy Sphere (actually what I was looking for).

1. I tried building the Dmap as he describes but either I miss something or …..

2. And I found a place to Download all related Dmap, but when I implement it my result is quite poor.

So need a hand please, or if there is a link with more detailed explanation.

Is there also a forum where beginners can exchange views between themselves

A cheap and dirty way to make a glassy sphere is to create a circle shape, then right click for blending options, take bevel and emboss, set the focus point near the center of the target and move the size slider right until you get what you want. Later you can rasterize the shape, make a layer of the effect (right-click on the layer – click ‘create layer’) and fine tune it.
