OK, here we go again.

Three days ago I asked for help with the lasso tool sending the whole work area to white screen in the middle of a selection. Colin and Dave suggested upgrading the software for the video card and I did so with what I thought was the solution. Well, the snake has crawled out of the bag again and it seems to be madder than before.

As I stated in my previous thread, I have a Sony Vaio RZ14 running Windows XP, 2.4Ghz P4, 120 GBHD, 1 GHZ of Ram and a Gforce4 M 440 Video card. Epson 2450 scanner and Epson C82 printer. There are no programs running in the background.

I am going to do a Google search to see what I can scratch up. I would like to avoid digging out 7.0 and bouncing back and forth to get the job done.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

turn down the acceleration on the video card and see if it clears it up. if it does, it’s still the driver. if not, we can start exploring elsewhere.

Hi Dave

Hardware accceleration to 0. Reboot.

Screen still goes to white (cream colored, actually) during lasso selections.

Have you heard about this specfically from anyone else?

Thanks for your help.

so that means it’s not the driver. put acceleration back up and try to reset your photoshop prefrences per the procedure in the faq.

I started fiddling around with the Lasso options and so far it is holding. Basically, what it is doing is completing the selection prematurely due to setting too many anchor points in dark areas. That is my goof and I can deal with that. What I do not understand is why it is going to white screen.

Anyway, that is where I am at right now. If the white screen is just a result of lasso operator error, then it is controllable and I am OK.

Dave

I will dump the prefs. I usually do that on a regular basis anyway.

Thanks much for your help
