I am running Photoshop CS on PIII 866 MHz with 768MB of memory. Generally the speed appears to be about what I experienced with PS7 with one notable exception. When I save a jpeg, the JPEG Options dialog seems to take 5 or 6 seconds. On my 2.4GHz P4, 512 MB laptop it was timed at 4 seconds. I’m sure it opened almost instantly under PS7. What happened here?

The JPEG compression algorithm necessarily involves cpu activity. So, it is not surprising that a computer with a 2.4GHZ processor would save the image faster than one with an 866 MHZ processory. Also, the memory or the disk may be faster.

I am just pointing out a simple thing that a lot of your are doing as above. Please set your program to wrap at about 70 characters or so. It make for much easier reading. Eg. Below is the same info as above.
