I am trying to duplicate the lines on the side of the car. Starting from behind the front wheel. The black>red>yellow graphic bolt.

I have tried using the pen and freeform pen. This makes a path but the path shows jaged edges. Then change to selection and filling.

I am a rookie so be gently, I am sure this is a simple task but can’t get it to work.

I would be greatly up someone could explain how to do or point to a tutorial.

TIA

Your link didn’t seem to work. This is the image, correct? http://www.racewaymagazine.com/August2004/LES-ARCA-Jay/IMG_2 884.jpg

It looks like so much of the line is covered up by decals, but it doesn’t look too hard to mimic. If your pen tool is showing jagged edges, you should resize the image to a higher resolution, perhaps 300 ppi. Also, check out your settings in the Pen Tool Options bar at the top of your screen. Below the Menu Item "Image" are three icons for Shape Layer, Paths and Fill Pixels. Make sure that you don’t have Fill Pixels selected. I would probably try Shape Layers, but I would first reduce the opacity of the new layer to about 55% or so because as soon as you change direction with your pen tool, the fill color will probably cover up the car image in the layer below. Reducing the opacity will allow you to see through to accurately make the next anchor point or adjust the curve.

Paths would work too as you can fill them later.
