can’t preview tif images in PS5_5

I’m using PS 5.5 on Win 2000 PC. I have been using Photoshop without any problems until recently. I can’t seem to get my .tif images to show as a preview. I can still preview other file formats (.jpg, .psd, etc…). Is there a patch or setting that I can change? I have several computers running the same version of PS and they all seem to have the same problem.

Sure you are actually SAVING a preview in the TIFFs?

Yep, "Image Previews" are set to "always save". But still no .tif preview.
