1. When I try to cut/paste my background image into my text layer I can’t get it INTO the text itself. The text remains solid color instead of taking on my background pasted in image. How do I get it INTO my text rather than around it ?
2. How do I move an individual character, my whole layer moves when I lasso a single character and try to move it.

Thanks In Advance !

Ok, on #1 I was not stroking the text layer. That one’s taken care of but what about moving individual characters within the text layer ?

#2 – you can’t. Th epoint behind a text layer is to keep all the text together in a "textual" kind of way. If you want to randomly move characters, you’ll have to put them on their own layers.

BTW, for #1, I would have moved the text layer under the image layer and ALT-clicked on the boundary in the layers palette.
