I’ve got Photoshop 6.0.

Is there any way to resize a selection once you’ve drawn it? I don’t see any "drag handles" or any indication of resizeability.

thanks!

1 Use the "transform selection" option from the selection menu. You can resize and rotate the selection. Play with the Shift, Alt and Ctrl-keys (Windows) when manipulating the selection to learn about its versatility.
2 When creating a selection with the marquee tool, you can move it around as long as you keep the mouse button pressed by pressing the space bar simultaneously. This makes resizing superfluous in many cases.

Yeah, just call up the contextual menu and select Transform Selection. You can also choose the command from the Select menu.

Once the transform is active, you can modify the selection very precisely by entering units of measurement in the text fields in the Options bar.
