New Document Size

I use Photoshop 7.0.1. In the past I would make a selection and create a new document. When I created the new document the dimensions would always match my new selection’s dimensions. Now the new dimensions only match the size of the previous document. What gives?

Change your preset size to custom in File>New options. That gives me a new document the exact size of the clipboard. In Photoshop CS, they’ve added "clipboard" to the options for new documents.
