Hi guys,

I am using Photoshop for the first time and I need to be able to put text on top of a rectangle. How do I change the colour of the text to white as it always appears as the same colour as the rectangle. This is to be used as a menu at the side of a website.

What version? In later versions the text color is shown in the Options Bar. Or you can pick a color first before selecting the Type tool.

The manual reveals a lot. You should at least skim through the first three or so chapters before trying to use Photoshop.

Text appears with the current foregound colour. If your colour picker is set to white following the drawing of your rectangle, the text will be white too. If you’ve already typed the text, highlight it and click the colour you want.
Hope this helps
