IR animation stops running in IE when link is clicked, runs fine in Netscape Nav.

I created an animation in ImageReady that uses 4 separate images and tweens between them using 4 frames each, in order to create a slide show of sorts to use on a web page. It runs fine in Image Ready, loads and runs fine in Netscape Navigator, loads fine in IE, but when any link is clicked on that page, the animation stops running. I have javascript open window links on that page to open various project profiles in a new window while keeping the main window intact. Any idea why the animation stops running? Thanks
