I have done everything that has been suggested, but still cannot find the answer on how to fix the problem. I deleted all the adobefnt*LST file(s) I could find, and all the Adobe fonts I could and still get the error messages.

1. Unable to load Photoshop interface font. The interface may not look optimal. We suggest that you reboot the system and load Photoshop again.

2. The Adobe UI font could not be loaded for best results, please exit the program and either install it or uninstall other fonts.

I did everything I could find that was suggested. I even uninstalled the whole program, and reinstalled. Still get the same messages.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

How many fonts do you have installed on your system [Start/Settings/Control Panel/Fonts]?

There are 938 fonts listed, 4 of them seem to be Adobe. This is probably the problem. How many should I deleat, and how do I determine which ones to deleat?

This is an immense number and is straining th eresources of your system. I would suggest getting it down to a couple of hundred max. If you want to have lots available, get a font manager [like Adobe’s ATM].

I don’t promise that this will fix your problem, but this is certainly a potential source of trouble. Having flushed out the fonts, uninstall and re-install PS. You might also delete prefs [info on FAQ if you have PS 7 – dunno if that works for CS].

FAQ = "frequently asked questions". You’ll find it at the top of the topic list in the forum.

Come back if this doesn’t work out.

Removing the fonts to 200 and reinstalling the program worked fine, except I guess I removed one font that was necessary. When I came to answer and let you know that the job was fine, when I attempted to type the message, I got strange lines and squiggles. I have GO BACK on my computer, so I have gone back to the time before I removed the fonts, and will have to do it all over again, being more careful.
