When starting CS on my PC I get this error message. It says failed to start because MSVCP71D.dll was not found – reinstalling may fix. I click OK and the program seems to work OK. I have been using CS for a couple months and this message just started appearing in the last couple weeks. Nothing else has changed on the PC. I don’t think I can reinstall as I have CS on my desktop & laptop – so I’ve used my two activations. Anyone else get this message?

Ginger,

I suspect that you have some 3rd party plugin that uses that file that you need to re-install (It is not a ‘standard’ Photoshop dll)

Ginger,

Try going to <http://www.dll-files.com/> and doing a search for your missing DLL. Odds are that this site will have it and you can download it for free. It’ll even tell you what the file does and where you need to put it.

You can download the file here <http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~estrehlo/graphics/> If you don’t know what app or plugin it was associated with try putting it in the PS dir. And then the windows and/or windows/system dir. if it doesn’t fix the problem in the PS dir.
