The Mask Pro manual is not well written – so I’m looking for some good tutorials. Also, I’m looking for opinions on what is the best masking program available now: Mask Pro, Knockout 2, etc. Thanks………

This is a yahoo egroup

I’m still basically a beginner with PhotoShop. I started doing the tutorials (in email)in the basics, with this group, but they later got advanced and switched from 6 to 7. I have 6, and feel it works better with my older computer and Windows 98 SE (I’m on a limited budget)

I still get the tutorials in email, and see they have been about more advanced subjects like masking, blending and such.

There’s also the archives and website.

I just found this ng and have been looking down it. Most of it is way beyond where I am, but I’m hoping to read a lot and soak up some of it to learn from.

Actually, I had been learing PhotoShop (mainly on my own, and through various tutorials) but got sidetracked by Desktop Publishing, and learning basics with msn Publisher. I think it all relates.

One idea I had was to design and print notecards, but am finding that more complicated than it looks. With the sizes and settings and getting it to come out right, with good color (on card paper). I just got a new printer and I think this is the main problem. I can set it up fine in PhotoShop (or Publisher) but it doesn’t print right.

I like to keep learning, and maybe at some point it will all come together in some way. Sometimes I feel like such an old dog- learning new tricks. Thought I’m sure I’m not the only great-grandmother, who got into computer stuff later in life (LOL)

Anyway, that egroup (and website with it) might be something to look into. They also have another egoup (same name, with "open") for discussions and questions.
