My computer is a Dell 8200
2GHZ with 1GB of RAM
I have an NVIDIA GeForce3 Graphics Card

I purchased the Creative Suite Premium Edition and I’ve found most of the software very buggy. Photoshop is the worst. It’s so slow it’s unsuable in a professional setting. Well, I could use it, but I couldn’t make any money doing it. Version 7 was quick and responsive. CS is terrible.

After giving up on this buggy suite of not-ready-for-primetime programs, I decided to just uninstall it and stick with what I’ve got. I’ve been a loyal Photoshop user since version 3, but this is the last time I’m upgrading immediately upon a new release.

My problem is that it’s really hard to completely get rid of this thing. I made the mistake of uninstalling it and leaving the activation components for Photoshop on the machine in case I wanted to give it another chance. This was a big mistake. The uninstall process generated a ton of error messages that made me just want to get rid of it once and for all. The problem is that I can’t seem to get rid of the activation components and software remnants after the partial uninstall. I want the activation and everything off the machine so I can either get a refund or resell the software to somebody else.

I can’t believe that I can’t get rid of this thing. I’m going to have pieces of this suite on my computer forever unless I reformat my hard drive and that’s out of the question. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Adobe has lost a loyal customer today. I don’t like all of these components being lumped into one suite. It takes too long to install and it’s a real nightmare if you have to uninstall it. This suite has to be the worst software I’ve ever had the displeasure of using in my life. I’m going to be a lot more cautious about buying upgrades from here on out.

to answer your question (i think), reinstall first then uninstall fully.

Now that you’ve gotten that all off your chest, would you like some help? If so, we’re going to need more than that to go on. You didn’t even tell us what operating system you’re using.

Dave’s suggestion should work but you shoudn’t need to reinstall the whole suite, just Photoshop. Once Photoshop’s installed, do a full uninstall.

I forgot to mention my operating system. It’s XP Pro Version.

I’m going to try Dave’s suggestion and reinstall and then completely remove the program.

I wonder how reactivation will work for the person who buys this program second hand from me. Will they constantly have to call Adobe to get the program acticvated, or will it install like new once it has be deleted from my machine? I didn’t register the program, I just activated it.

Also, does the uninstall completely remove all the information from that special sector of my hard drive that Adobe creates during the installation?

you need to provide them with a transfer of license document available at adobe.com. i don’t have the link handy, but someone here should post it soon (hint: someone post a link to the transfer of license document! <g>)
