Hello everyone.

I recently downloaded the "Winter Wonderland" action.

I know how actions work, or so I thought, because I can’t seem to get this one to work. I downloaded it, loaded it into photoshop, and "played" it from the actions menu. It runs ok I assume because I don’t see any errors, and at the end I have a static picture of the snow on top of my document. But now what?

I saved my image as jpg and gif, and looked at them both, and there’s no animation. What am I missing? Please help.

Thanks in advance.

I don´t believe the output is supposed to have animation. Photoshop is not an animation program.

I’ll bet you can get animation by running the action three different times, getting three different versions of the snow on the same picture. Then, use the animated GIF functions of ImageReady and make a three frame animation that I think will look like snowfall (you may need to have more than three versions, but I would start there).

Whatever you do, don’t start shaking the heck out of your monitor to try to make it into one of those snow globe things. It doesn’t work.

If you want the photo to appear on the web with moving snowflakes, you might want to search for a Javascript that can add them to a blank photo (much less to download than a full animation loop). This is the most realistic one I found in my short search: http://javaboutique.internet.com/RealSnow/ .
