Extracting difficult subjects

Hello,

Does anybody know how good the extraction tool in CS is? I am trying to extract a person with long hair from the background using the PS7 extraction tool and find it difficult. If there are better techniques, I would appreciate it.

Use the pen tool…it’s the most precise tool for making paths & selections. Create a path…convert the path to a selection…refine the selection with quick mask.
