Hi:
This is probably a trivial question, but it is driving me nuts. I open an image in PS. It comes up in a window with the rulers next to the image. I enlarge it with Ctrl-+ a few times. The rulers travel with it. But when I use Ctrl– to make it small again. the rulers stay at the top and left of the screen and the image is sitting alone in the center of the screen. I can’t figure out a reliable way of getting the rulers back next to the image. I usually end up closing PS and opening it again. That often works. But there must be a better way.
I really need the rulers next to the image. I have poor eyesight and I need to have the rulers next to the image in order to really use them.

Thanks

Try using Ctrl + Alt + + and see if that is what you want.

I think want you want is to use the "tile window" icon in the upper right of the screen next to the "X" close window icon. Then adjust your window size by pointing your cursor at the corner and dragging the window out to a size that is comfortable for you. The ruler should stay with the widow that way.

Is your eyesight sufficient to see the cursor position markers on the ruler? Those are dotted lines so it might be a bit hard to see. Other way is to not maximize the window your image sits in. Or use guides. Hope this helps.

With the Zoom tool (magnifying glass) selected, check Resize Windows to Fit in the Options Bar.

There are some screen magnifying utilities you can get, and Windows XP has one built in.
