Book Cover Michelangelo Question

I am having a book cover designed. One of its images will include parts of The Creation of Adam – the Cistine Chapel fresco with God touching the finger of Adam.

My designer has asked me to get him a high resolution digital image. I’ve tried downloading from Corbis, but the image just isn’t sharp.

Any suggestions?

First, learn to spell Sistine
Second, learn to use Google
Third, learn to use Google Images

Didn’t take at all long to find the image you want in resolution 1303 x 670.

And fourth, what does this have to do with Photoshop?

Thank you. I am writer (not a graphic artist) who is self-publishing and is working out concepts for a book cover in Photoshop . This is a brainstorming – a kind of thinking out loud – process.

I am not clear on what all the issues are, nor where the potential glitches are (or even if there are any), but it seemed to me that the quickest way to find out would be to ask the people who work with images all the time.

When you say you "downloaded from Corbis" did you pay for the image and download the paid-for version or just download the sample with the watermark? Go back to Corbis and the image and you’ll see it has several options for resolutions, including ultra high.
Register as a member and you’ll see the prices for each resolution. After you pay up, you’ll be able to download the "real" image which should be razor sharp. If it isn’t raise hell with Corbis.
The low resolution images on the site make it easy for designers to download and play around with something to see if it works in a layout before paying money for the real thing.
