With all the attention being given this topic, I was inspired to do my day two creation by playing with a twenty. I got the source image from <http://www.moneyfactory.com/> which works fine with Photoshop CS.

It is posted at <http://home.cfl.rr.com/lorensmith/images/20.jpg>

While it is possible that the image could be construed to be anti-Adobe, that is not my intention. It is simply a satirical image in response to the current anti-counterfeiting technology posts.

Just thought I’d share.

Loren

Interesting. It seems the central bank gives you images that don’t look like real money.

Yeah, monopolies are like that… they don’t like competition.

Actually, the central bank is not a monopoly. Anyone in the US can issue currency and coinage. You just can’t attempt to counterfeit the government issued stuff. The problem is to get people to accept your currency in commerce.

(There was a TV show on this last night, about a group in the south somewhere. They issue coins and bills, backed by gold and/or silver. The currency is accepted in some businesses in the area … not your local Walmart, or course. I couldn’t figure out how they made a profit doing so, though.)

Maybe if the Snidley Mounties $20 is harder to counterfeit, they can take some business away from the big guys. Maybe they can make a profit by selling advertising on the reverse.

I’m not looking forward to Wal-Mart script, with a big yellow smiley face in the middle of it.

If Comic Sans shows up on any government-issued currency, I’m beating a hasty ex-patriotist retreat

They’ll start designing currency in Publisher, with the fancy bits done in Word Art.

Wade,

Yep. Central Florida – Palm Bay actually. Gotta love Florida. I was out this morning exercising on my bike – in January. I did however, have to put on a long sleeve tshirt as it was a frigid 60 degrees.

Anything below 70 is pretty cold isn’t it?

People that make their own money often make a profit by never having to redeem the currency. It gets thrown out, lost or collected. In Canada there is company called "Canadian Tire" that gives you back part of your purchase in their own bills. That drawer full of monopoly like 25 cent bills (yes it comes in 5, 10 and 25 CENT increments) came in handy on a few occations.

Bob,

Not a bad town. Between Melbourne and Palm Bay, there is business to be had. Still, I can’t wait until I can afford to move to one of the islands on the equator. I hate winter.

Wade,

70 is defininately my cutoff number. I grew up in Michigan, spent time in Kansas and Germany and got my fill of snow.

I’ve been dialed into this guy’s ArtBills for awhile, and even proffered some Macintosh tips (he was WA-A–A-Y behind the OS curve):

Read thoroughly, and get a grip on what he’s doing with his stuff….

Phos,

How nice of you….

As a person who is also way behind in the learning curve of all this hi-tech stuff—I certainly appreciate it when people lend me a helping hand!

Haven’t talked to you in awhile—how are things going???
