Like you, I have gotten help way beyond the questions that I have posed. So I would join you in saying thanks to the many experts who contribute their thoughts and time on a day to day basis.
Let’s not get too gushy here, <G>. I feel a little disloyal ( being Ian Lyons’ anonymous apprentice ), but among the throng of people giving good advice, I reserve my highest admiration for Len Hewitt. When he undertakes one of his patented , encyclopedic explanations , I find myself in awe of the depth of his experience .
Well, I don’t have a hard time being too "gushy-mushy"–as a major recipient of Len’s help and MANY OTHERS in this forum—I want to add my words of thanks to Lisa’s. This is an incredible place to learn and I’m a sponge soaking it all up.
Sad to say, Carol has resigned her position as Forum Host here after 8 1/2 years’ loyal service.
She has made that decision for a variety of reasons. She is very active in various digital camera forums these days leaving her less time to spend here. She is also getting increasingly busy in her business. She did feel (as we all do from time to time) that she was suffering ‘forum burn-out’ which was aggravated by the numerous posts on activation……that, she felt, was the straw that her particular camel’s back failed to endure…..
Len, I had heard from someone else that Carol was resigning. I sent her an email of thanks for the many times that she (and you) have helped me with PS and other related stuff, but it bounced back. Please tell her I said thanks, and that I wish her well.
Thanks for your good wishes folks – after 8Β½ years ‘service’ it was simply taking up too much of my time trying to keep you lot in order :).
Things have moved on and I am involved in many other forums across the internet (the Digital Wedding Forums, Rob Galbraith’s forums, JΓΌergen Specht’s D1scussion forum, David and Moose’s Digital Pro Shooter forums to name but a few) – mainly helping out folk with wedding/portrait, Nikon Digital and Photoshop stuff. Something had to give in the end and after a great deal of soul searching decided it had to be these forums.
Good luck and best wishes to all, enjoy your Photoshopping!!
I don’t post here much nowadays, but I must say this forum is going to lose an awful lot with your farewell.
I guess that when one starts to come to this place you and Len are seen so much as its corner stones that you never think you’d come one day to see "…Carol has resigned her position as Forum Host".
I hope you are all right and I’d like to thank you for the effort you have given to all of us.
My best wishes and please receive a warm ‘thank you’.
Thank you so much, Carol, for holding my hand and guiding me from PS4 and film scans to the All-Digital Zog! Thank you, too, for sorting us out when we needed it. You’ll always have a kind place in many hearts.
What can I say? This is a sad day for all the users of the Photoshop Win Forum, but I hope it will be a wonderful thing for you.
May you spend your time now doing things which bring you personal and financial fulfilment.
I see that Nicpie says your e-mail address is no longer working. Too bad. I have been meaning to write you for ages and ages. I meant to write back and tell you how much the e-greeting card you sent me meant to me when I was still going through chemotherapy. I’m sorry to say I was so very ill so much of the time that I have been remiss in many things I should have done.
I also meant to write you upon hearing of the loss of your Mother. That HAS to have been one of the most difficult adjustments of your life. Often I have thought of you and how your life would change without her being there with you.
Please know that we will all miss you, and you are welcome at my place any time. Write me. My e-mail address is the same and can be seen by clicking on my name.
Thanks folks for the fond send offs, I too will miss many of you – but you can get stale if you stick around too long. For me, I have new things to try, new cameras to experiment with and new horizons to explore – and surely that is what life is all about.
Oh my—–dear Carole—you were the very first person that helped me with PS5 many, many years ago. Your patience and clear info was always so helpful. You certainly assisted me with "new horizons" and I wish you much joy and success in yours. Have a great time…mm
