Hi,
I currently own legit copy of 6.01
Should I upgrade to 7.0 ?
Is there anything in 7.0 that I would need that 6.01 doesn’t have? Bug fixes perhaps, or tools I would need.
Thank you in advance.

To me (photographer) the only difference is the very neat Healing Brush Tool.
Of course, you can achieve the same results with several passes of the Clone Tool at different settings but it will take you a lot more work.

Hi Bob, If you are thinking of upgrading to Photoshop 7,why not go for Photoshop CS(8)? It has all the advantages of PS 7 and some more.It will cost the same amount of money and you will be bang up to date. EGR

I’d rather stay away from CS right now.
I’d just like to know if 7.0 has bug fixes or extra tools that 6.01 doesn’t have.
Stephan already mentioned one thing, but is it worth the money and hassle upgrading (with possible problems), or stay with 6 which works fine? Thanks to all.

Upgrading is expensive but easy and problem free.
If you are happy with 6.01 and don’t really need the healing and patch tools stay with 6.

Actually it is 7.01 which fixed a lot of bugs in 7.0.

besides the healing brush…you also get the browser, which i really like. There are some improvement in the text tool as well…..but if you are happy with six and on a budget you are just fine. I got my LEGIT upgrade for about 70 bucks when it first came out. IMHO….it seems that each newer version of PS just seems to be a bit more dumbed down. Things are easier and faster…but certainly you can achieve anything in 6 that you can do in
7.

just my thoughts

The browser?
It is way to slow and you can’t move it to another display like you do with the palettes.
Useless really.
