Hey there jazzman!! I recently did a Beatles collage that I posted on binaries.paint-shop-pro and alt.graphics. It may be what you are requesting, then again, it may not be but here it goes.

I first did a collage of The Beatles’ albums and used it as a texture fill for the words THE BEATLES == using the actual Beatles font. I am sure there is another way to do it that would make more sense but that’s how I did it.

You could also do a JAZZ text with a bold font, do your text stylings and then add another Jazz as a layer. Wish I could be more helpful.

Use the big word jazz as a clipping layer. Type the word jazz a million times, or enough to cover the canvas or at least the space where the big letters will be, add a new layer type the big word jazz, press the alt key while putting the mouse betwwen the 2 layers in the layer palette and viola you have the word within the word.

In photshop Ctrl G will do the trick
ffirst write your big text text layer
make new text layer with smaller letters, big enough to cover the first text
and than Crtl G
tthat is all there is to it.
Good luck

Instead of typing the word jazz a million times, type it once very small, then select it with the marquee tool and define it as a pattern (edit>define pattern). Make a new layer and fill the layer with your new pattern. Then as was mentioned type your new word in large letters and place the text layer under the filled layer. You can see what is happening better by stroking the large text. Then Alt click between the filled layer and the text layer.
