I have activated Photoshop CS, and continue to receive repeated warnings to activate or the program cannot be used. Each time I do this, I can use the software again, only to be greeted several usages later to "activate" again in order to proceed with the program. I am using my original CD! How do I prevent this recurring message?

Are you shutting down Photoshop and your machine normally? An abnormal shutdown of the machine (blue screen, etc) could cause XP to do a System Restore in order to try and recover. A prolem booting can also cause this. The System Restore ends up doing something that forces re-activation.

No- I have not used System Restore (I use XP Home Ed) in a long time, and have no bootup problems. Any other ideas?

There are three places where some information is written – a change to any one of those will trigger re-activation. A utility that fiddles with the registry, or registry corruption, could change one of those locations. Also, check for viruses, etc. If you have any particular system utilities installed (e.g., Norton SystemWorks), consider removing them.
