I installed Adobe CS about a month ago, at which time I went through the Activation procedure. This morning, when calling up Photoshop, it requested the Activation procedure again (and then thanked me again). Does that mean Adobe’s records will show that I have this program installed on TWO machines? If so, how do I go about correcting that bit of misinformation in Adobe Corporation’s files?

Norman,

It doesn’t mean that you used your two shots, but the question still remains as to what you did between last using Photoshop and opening it again this morning.

Did you by any chance do a System Restore in Windows XP?

Wow! You are terrific! Yes, I did. First thing this morning! Had a problem after the POST (Power on, self test) when my startup programs hung up. Did a System Restore going back just one day, to yesterday, and it solved that problem. Is there anything more I should do?

Nope, you’re fine. And you didn’t activate the software, you reactivated. It still only counts as one activation.

Ian and Bob,
Thank you both for your help. Considering the fact that I originally activated the software about a month ago, and the System Restore took me back only one day, the logic of needing to reactivate the software eludes me. But I am satisfied that everything is ok, and grateful that there are folks out there, like you both, who lend an immediate and informed helping hand. Thanks again.

Norman,

It shouldn’t have done what it did. Adobe are aware of the reason, but there’s little that can be done to stop it for the present. For the future just keep in mind that restoring the system will require you to reactivate.

So long as you have internet or phone access you should be able to reactivate very quickly and without affecting you ability to activate a second computer.
