CDR’s are vector. Did you try exporting from CorelDraw as a tiff file?

Or have it sent to you as an Illustrator file (.AI) that way you keep the vector data.
Similar to another thread, but the shoe fits perfectly in this case. Export the .cdr as .ai, then when you open in Photoshop,you can choose the resolution you want at which to rasterize. Just did it in CorelDraw 9,works perfectly. Even comes in separated onto transparent layer.

Mac, this sound like the best solution so I had him send me the file as a .AI but when I went to open it a msg came up that said I had to open it in Paint shop Pro 7 esd.msi??? When I open the attach from the email is there a way to put it directly into Photoshop 7. Thanks For the help…Dvae
I tried saving to my HD and then opening the .AI in Photo shop 7. PS 7 recognized the file but when I went to open it a Msg came up that said—Could not open file…..because the parser module cannot parse the file— ???? Any suggestions…Dave
It sounds like it got mangled in the transfer. Try a different ftp.
Not a bad idea to have files zipped or stuffed to protect from damage/corruption during file transfer.

1. could be that file was corrupted in transfer. Was it FTP’d? Or emailed? In either case, especially if was from Macintosh, good chance of mangled bits. Need .zip or .sit, or (always works from Mac to PC) .hqx.
2. once you get good .ai file, don’t just double click it, as this
depends on what proggie has association to open it (if any). Just use File/Open in PS, and if it’s a good file, it will give you options as to what resolution (inches/ppi, pixels, etc) to rasterize it as.
