Hi there,

In the eighties there were stickers and shirts
of for example ‘I love NY’, written like ‘I’ [red heart] ‘NY’. Now I want to distribute such a graphic with a different line, so ‘I’ [red heart] ‘my line’.

Do I got to have a licence from the owner to do that,
so is it illegal to distribute without such a licence?
I heard I can pay the owner a little money to buy a licence to distribute my version freely. If that’s true, how can I find the owner (anybody knows a site or organisation
to look for him?)

I’m living in the Netherlands by the way (for copyrightlaws).

Thanx a lot, in advance,
I hope somebody can give me the anser…

If you create artwork from scratch in PS save all your work for future ref, put any text line you like on it then it’s yours and you can do what you like with it.

One simply cannot own a claim to a heart shape or it’s meaning in that context to most of us (love).

What he said but it’s nice to see someone who actually considers copyright before just going ahead and doing it anyway 🙂
