hi,
I am wanting to convert a small pic to black graphics pen or coloured pencil then enlarge it to poster size or even bigger. How do I smooth out the pixelation and jaggies on the lines.

with thanks.

hi Not so,
I am using photo shop elements and I am using a variety of pics, from photos that my parents and I have taken and scanned in to pics on the internet, I am trying different artistic effects out then enlarging the pic to poster size or larger. I have a new continuous ink system on my Epson printer so I can now print and tile 20 or 30 pages in colour and not be too concerned with the cost and the big pics are great except the pixels. thanks for the help Not so,
regards,
Grant.

To me, it would depend on the pic. In any case be sure
to use bicubic interpolation when enlarging. If you give more details I’ll try to help. There are others with more experience here.

Can you convert it to vector, like with Streamline?
That would solve the jaggy problem. If you post
the pic or something similar or a description…

Your chances are not so good without actually redrawing the image. Try enlarging 10% at a time and then perhaps sharpening or running a curves adjustment.

Sounds interesting. What is a continuous ink system?
If you send a sample of something similar to what you
are doing I might be able to help. You might try enlarging the pictures first, before adding the effects. It will take longer but might give better results.

Hi Not So.
my continuous ink system is a set of 6 large plastic bottles that are attached to my Epson photo 720 printer by flexible tubes to the ink cartridge, I buy ink in bulk and refill the bottles as needed, the bottles are clear so you can easily keep an eye on ink levels. I will send you a pic of my system if you like, also when I send a couple of pic to you do you want copies of the small original or copies of the enlarged pic? would jpg be the best format for me to send to you?

looking forward to your reply,
grant.

If you can email a file that shows what the
pic looks like after the special effects before
you enlarge it, or a section of an enlarged
pic. My email only accepts 10 megs so maybe
8 megs is safe. Did you try to enlarge with
bicubic interpolation before you did the special
effects? Where there less jaggies?

Where do you get this CIS ? Could you post link. Only place I have seen wanted piles of money for a few tubes.
