System:
o Lots of multi-layer montage artwork in PS4
o NT4-PC with PS4 is remote, XP-Pro-Laptop is local
— Photoshop4 incompatible with laptop
— NT4 incompatible with laptop

Problem:
o Need frequent brief access to PS4 on remote NT4 box
— simple PS4 operations, manipulation

Q: Anyone tried Photoshop over Tight-VNC?
— not VNC, Tight-VNC (www.tightvnc.com)

I suspect it will not work not re bandwidth (200Mbps
or gigabit available), but re plain latency problems.

PS7 will work under XP-Pro, but that is an expensive
upgrade (versus Dual-Xeon CPU/board) when PS4 is fine.

I use Tight VNC on my 3 machine setup but I am running XP, Win 2000 and Win 2000 server. I find it a great little program which does all I ask of it.

That’s fine – excellent.

Servers are in bits, so I can’t test it.
However I’ve past experience of VNC and know Tight-VNC is more effective – not that bandwidth is really a limit here.

Thanks.
