I think you should be looking at things differently

You are using the wrong tool for the job. PowerPoint is an obvious alternative. Go there.

Help, please!

I want to create a series of images in PS that can be played (projected) as a slide show. My client will prepare the fades and dissolves but wants the series of images plus a series of text screens to separate the various images.

No problem with the images. I selected and edited the appropriate images and gave them file numbwers that ensures their playing in the sorted order on a lot of programs.

Creating the text images has me stumped. I can do it easily in Pagemaker but how to get the images (sic) into PS? When I use the text capabilities of PS, I get bitmapped images that aren’t nice and crisp.

Is there a way to achieve the crispness of vector graphics files via Photoshop? Or do I need to use some completely different program?

To make it simple (for me, duh), I need to set the type, make it the colors I want and give it a filename and extension that’s compatible with, maybe Photoshop. Or doesn’t it matter?

I’m tired and confused and I’m probably making this much more complex than it is. Can someone rescue me?

Thanks

Ouch. Talk about the wrong tool for the job!

You can do this in Photoshop, if you don’t mind being frustrated and wasting prodigious amounts of time. If you want an easier, stress-free life, use a tool intended for this purpose, such as PowerPoint or Keynote.

You can not save a PageMaker file and open the PageMaker file in Photoshop. What you will need to do, if you insist on walking down this road, is save the PageMaker file as a PDF, or export each page of the PageMaker file as an EPS, and then bring the PDF or EPS into Photoshop. You will be given an option when you bring the file in for resolution and color mode. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of time at it, and be aware that you will not be able to edit the text in Photoshop. —
