Hi,

i’ve got some additional filters (e.g. Kai Power Tools, Version 2.1) which, when using photoshop 7 under OS 9, work fine. They are in photoshop’s directory called "Additional Moduls" (my translation of photoshop’s directory "Zusatzmodule" in the German version).

When trying to have photoshop 7 using these additional filters under Mac OSX by putting them in photoshop’s additional modul directory, they do not appear in the filter menu.

Can anybody help me?

Regards,
Henriette, Hamburg/Germany

Yes, that is correct.

A filter is a computer program. A filter written for OS 9 will not work in OS X. A filter written for OS X will not work in OS 9. A filter written for Windows will not work on a Mac, and a filter written for a Mac will not work in Windows.

Sorry…

Thanks. I suppose this means I will have to buy some new filters (:

Yes, but many of them were probably updated (as opposed to having to find new ones), possibly some for no charge, and even non-free updates are usually less than starting again.

You should take a look at the author’s websites to get an idea what you will need.

o, yes, thank you – i’ll first make a list of the missing filters and then do some exploring in the internet.

Filters have to be written for OS X to work on OS X.
The older OS 9 filters cannot work in OS X.
