How kind of you to spam us and invite subscribers to a PhotoShop NG to and PSP website.
I think we’ll be sticking with our proper software, not some cheap toy lookalike thanks.

Spam is pathetic and unwanted, no question about it, but that comment on toy look alike was a little strong Hannah. From what I can remember it does not really look like PS at all. Secondly, in the hands of the right person, someone could probably produce better work with PSP than ‘you’ can in PS!
Attack spammers for sure, but never knock other people’s products, especially if you are not proficient in their product to even be in a position to criticise.

Just for the record, I do not use PSP at all and I certainly do not advocate spam. I just believe it it wrong to criticise something because it is not what we use. I have seen fabulous works done in MANY different image editing programmes. At the end of the day, the final image could have been created in "any" programme….you would never know.

Have a great day Hannah.

Noooo. Sorry if I came across that way, not my intention at all jjs. I just believe too many people in all industries criticise other’s products. If you make or use the best product, be proud of it, but why knock others? In my experiences, people who knock other products are most often the ones who have never used the other product.

Just my 2 cents worth, sorry if it offended anyone. I agree with Hannah that morons should not be trying to promote another product in here!

Happy Easter by the way, to jjs, Hannah and everyone else in this NG!!!!

I don’t see how you can possibly know, or even guess, what magic I can or cannot do with PS. For the record, I don’t "produce work" using PS; as a photographer in the digital realm I use it to knock things into size or shape after C1P has done its business, so I don’t think that counts as producing, at least not in terms of producing original material.

I have been the PSP route some time ago, before I could afford PS, and frankly there is no comparison. Lookalike was the wrong word, perhaps pretender to the throne would be better words, but <personal opinion>I stick with the word ‘toy’.</personal opinion>

Hi Hannah,

Well I am glad you ended up with the programme you wanted (PS). I am sort of evaluating PS at the moment, I have custody of a friend’s computer while she is overseas for a few months and PS CS is on her computer. It is a great programme. I will buy the ‘next’ version if I choose to go ahead with it, otherwise after only a short period of time it will be out of date (so to speak).

What sort of photography are you into? I am a photographer myself, amongst other things.

I’m on PS7; couldn’t see the benefits of a switch to CS frankly. I don’t use PS for RAW developing (C1Pro but investigating RSE) and didn’t really detect much in the way of improvements in CS over 7 which would help me. PS7 can resample and crop as adequately as CS as far as I can see. I hear mutterings about CS2 soon!

Mainly commercial and a few model portfolios, but always keeping an eye open for those shots which might sit nicely on Alamy, which has been a source of some nice pocket money the last few months since I started up with them. Weddings out of my bank manager’s necessity but not by choice! What are you photographing, and why?

That’s what I meant by RSE above Hecate. I’m still undecided about which I like better, good ole C1Pro or RSE. It’s certainly a very different way of working, that’s for sure, and I’m finding that one product suits some pics better, and the other is better for other types. Still unsure.
