Whats up with my line tool?

Just bought/installed CS, and am missing my usual line tool, after hrs of searching I have got no more time, therefor these 3 questions:

– How do I get a smooth default line with my line tool (jagged at the moment)? – How do I define thickness (in pxl)?
– How do I get rid of the edge kinda of thing that shows untill one draws a new line?

Ok, so far Ive found a solution for the 1st and 3rd question, but the thickness wich is presented as "Weight" at the top bar, is shown in cm – I want it to be pixels. Fx I want a 2 px width on the line – cant do that when the smallest is 0,1 cm.

Ive changed from cm to pixels in preferences, so I do not understand why exactly this is in cm.

Anyone with a solution?

in the weight setting…

cm = centimeters

px = pixels

in = inches

pt = points

so for a 2 pixel line, type in 2px. It will hold the px setting until you change it.

I was a little stumped by it a first.

I’m sure there are other increments that it will go by as well.

Stumped? Why? Sometimes you cant see pages for just pages clowding your eyesight.. The simple can sometimes seem too complex, and the other way around. "Logic" might be the issue here

I am certain it will help a lot of others, in various situations..

Can someone help me with my line tool problem. I am trying to use this simple line tool. However, when I choose it and try to use it an arrow appears instead of a straight line? What is going on? Please help.

Select the line tool. Up in the top left hand of your screen, you’ll see a box that shows a line. That’s your Tool Presets. Click it and you’ll get a drop down menu. Select "Reset Tool" and you’ll have your line back.
