could someone tell me what the difference between photoshop and imageready is?

What can do one and not the other?

thanks by advance.

In summary, PhotoShop was mainly a tool for print. Adobe came out with ImageReady 1.0 as a separate product to prepare images for Web use and to make animated gifs. ImageReady has been included with PhotoShop since Version 6. Adobe has added to PhotoShop numerous tools for preparing Web images and does include some of the fuctions within ImageReady. To explore the differences completely the manuals should be reviewed.

Photoshop is an image editing programme, probably the best around. Image Ready is programme (allegedly) for taking images produced in Photoshop and ,modifying them for web use, and is probably the worst around.
