Paper Suggestion for HP Printers

I have been using various papers with my HP 7350 printer. (Yeah, I also use HP, but I can’t find anywhere to buy it cheaper in larger quantities.) I purchased Epson and Kodak in larger packs at Costco – did not like the prints from the epson paper and could not stand the odor from the kodak. Any suggestions? Thanks

What are you printing… business forms, art, photos, text? What resolution? Where is it going, in an album, on junior’s bathroom door, in a frame? Where do you live, U.K., U.S., Russia? Better questions equal better answers. ~Doc

Mainly concerned with photographs – most from 5 MP digital camera. Some go on wall under glass, some are given to others and some go into photo albums

For a reasonably priced matte paper check out Red River Paper’s Pemium Matte. You can buy it in rolls. If you’re more concerned with a high quality look try Crane’s Museo. It’s expensive but worth it.

Ilford Pearl Classic might be a little pricey too but again something to try if you’re looking for a quality look. This stuff thrives on contrast.

I hesitate to recommend a glossy paper because I don’t have an HP and results vary so much. Don’t buy cheap glossy paper though, it shows.

Many online retailers offer sample packs which is probably a better way to go than reading what works for others. Good luck…

I agree. I don’t mind paying for the HP paper for my personal stuff, but occassionally I will be asked to take photos as an organization function and have to make prints for all the people there. That’s when I like to use something less expensive. Costco sells 100 sheet packs of both Epson and Kodak papers for about $25.00. If I could find HP paper in bulk packs like that I would be a happy camper.

If you like a matte surface, I’ve had nice results from HP using the Office Depot "Presentation Paper."
