Hi,
I have an Epson C84 with the new DuraBrite Inks and an old epson stylus colour 440.
I have a photo of my daughter in a jaquizzi pool which has blue tiles on the wall around it and the pool itself is blue.
The problem is that when I print it from Photoshop CS or Paint Shop Pro it is very dark the colours are nowhere near the original. When I print this same file with the same apps to my epson 440 the colours are fantastic although print quality is obvously rubbish.
I have uploaded the file I am trying to print to
http://members.lycos.co.uk/pdhickman2000/photos/Picture-0051 .jpg In a moment of desperation I pasted the file into an MS Word doc, made it full page and printed it from there. Hey presto the colours were much brighter not as bright as with the 440 but far far better. I have printed other photos with the C84 and had few problems but this one is getting expensive.
Most times using the print preview option for the printer driver gives a pretty accurate preview of the end print but on this file it’s way off. I found 2 settings where the preview looked great but got an almost black print. I have also tried different papers including epson DuraBrite photo paper but still the print from Word is by far the best.

Any suggestions please other than buy another printer…..lol

many thanks
Paul
