What do you mean PRO graphics. It’s not the software that makes the graphics PRO, it’s the user. If you’ve only had Photoshop for 4 months don’t expect miracles. You have a lot of learning time ahead.

umm, go to college for 4 years and get a degree in art? study photography? That is a funny question. There are some talented amateurs out there but I think what makes a PRO is getting paid for your work.
Feel free to ask noob questions but do try and be more specific, like tell us what you are trying to accomplish. Print jobs for in-house? print photos at outside labs? Web pictures that look nice and load fast? Fix a photo or draw an illustration?

I have had Photoshop since 1996 and I am still learning new things all the time.

My first question is how anyone can buy Photoshop 6.0, since it is many versions old?
Since that came out there have been three new versions now as of Monday April 4th.
Stores no longer stock it.Is it registered with adobe? If so … then join the adobe users group
as well as the forum. As a LEGAL owner you may join both for free. There are lots of free
goodies to download and lots of good information in the forum.

Simple someone had a copy sitting around they didn’t want or need and gave it to him as a gift. I buy full versions each upgrade so that I am not tied to older versions. They make pretty good gifts.

What a kind and thoughtful person you are! Most people would just save the $’s and upgrade.

If you buy an upgrade, then give away the previous version, you have violated your licensing agreement and you are breaking the law. The Adobe licensing agreement specifically and explicitly forbids transferring the older versions to other parties when you purchase an upgrade.

If you wish to transfer your old version legally, you must purchase a full retail copy of the new version, not an upgrade.

If you have any questions, refer to the licensing agreement included with Photoshop.

He said rather explicitly that he buys "full versions each upgrade".

Heh heh.. don’t sweat it.. just accept that they aren’t jumping on you.. they’re jumping on a possible pirate of which there are many floating around.

Hope you get lots of use out of it, make sure you don’t lose the serial number that may or may not still be with the photoshop depending on the condition of the original package. That number will save you BIG bucks down the road if you upgrade.

YOO HOO….. look back up there…. he said, "I buy full versions each upgrade"

He buys the whole shebang when they come out with an upgrade.

Read slowly.. it’s not as confusing when you stay at your reading level.

How did this topic get to be about legal vs illegal copies of PS the poster’s question was
""ok, I have a general question. how do I make "PRO" graphics. I’ve got the basic stuff down. I just need lotsa help."" who cares what version she has or how she got it?

because a lot of us here actually buy our copies rather than steal them and get annoyed when they think a pirate is asking for help.

The people here who shell out the money care when people who they think are using stolen copies ask for help here.. it didn’t help that the original anti-pirate replier didn’t quite read the whole post.. grin.. but I think just as many people tried to support the OP after the confusion died down.

Why do you CARE whether they care or not? You can’t berate them for what they did when you are doing the same thing in a slightly different direction. Instead of that, how about answering the OPs question as best as you can.

Have a good one.
PS and no, I don’t know how you make someone a "PRO" other than with lots of practice and some talent, or the other way around, lots of talent and some practice.

Giving a full copy away is completely legal so long as it is removed from the original users machine, and properly registered with Adobe, per their lic. agreement. I will attempt to answer this kids questions with links to websites that can help. I think everyone here is trying to burn the witches without knowing or caring about the facts.
