Applying Adjustments To Only One Layer

In the Layers menu in earlier versions of PS there was an option to "Group with previous layer." Which meant the selected adjustment layer only applied to the layer immediately below it and not to all layers below it. I cannot find that function in CS.

Has it been discarded (terrible if true), or extremely well hidden?

Alt-click on the little line between the layers.

The command is in there somewhere but I never need to use it.
