Hey Everybody,

New to Photoshop CS and a former Paint Shop Pro 9 user. PSP9 had a pasting function that I expected to find in PSCS but don’t see.

In PSP9, I could copy an image or any portion of an image and then select Edit/Paste as new image and I would have a new cropped image ready for saving or editing.

I don’t find this function in PSCS where I believe it should be, nor do I find a reference to it in help.

Is there a way to do this without creating a new image first and then pasting somthing into it? Or is there a plugin or something to that effect?

Thanx,

Rick

Oh, Krist. Select, copy, then ‘NEW’. The new document will be the size of the selected. The paste it. How simple could it be?

Select, Control-C, Control-N, Control-V. Done.

I swear Paintshop makes idiots of the user.

Evidently, Photoshop makes jerks of it’s users, if we are to sweep with as broad a broom as you. Dude, you can’t even spell Christ properly (or maybe it’s because you are so religious that you don’t want to take the Lord’s name in vain), and you obviously don’t proof read before you post. Why couldn’t you just help the guy out, instead of being such a condescending jerk.

Obviously having a bad day!!

Just a little point on semantics………
A "Dude" is a man who is much concerned with his dress and appearance!! so can you substantiate this form of address or is it a presumption?

At least in the lingo around here (CA, USA) ‘dude’ is just a form of address
e.g. ‘man’. ‘Hey dude’ is quite similar to ‘hey man’ or ‘hey buddy’. AFAIK, no
connection with dress and appearance at all. I’d never heard of ‘dude’ used to insinuate anything about such things.

No, he’s a chimp. And that still makes him more adept at PS than a helluva lot of people including you.

oh my,

this thread is becoming very personal. Chimp is not a bad thing, I think chimps are probably just as smart as humans, but a lot less conceited.

jj is just what’s known as irascible. And personally, given some of the questions that appear here, I don’t blame him 🙂
