Win 98 XP Home, 512 RAM, P3 Equiv processor, lots of hard disc space. Have been using successive versions of Elements since it first appeared. Virtually no problems till today:

3.0 refused to load, telling me I was short on memory. Checked system monitors, seemed to be plenty. Rebooted. Same thing. Ran every utility on my hard drive I could think of. Same thing. Used disc to repair Elements. Same thing. Removed references to program in registry and uninstalled completely. Now it will not reinstall. About half way through the installation process its says "please install the disc: 1. Used backup discs. Same problem.

Any ideas? My computer seems to be working very well otherwise.

Thanks.

It is more likely that you don’t have enough scratch space. How much RAM are you letting PSE have?

Jim:

Can’t get into the program to answer your question, but I think I left it at the default setting. But why would this keep me from reloading??????

Thanks.

How much free disc space do you have?

I still have about 25 gig on that hard drive. The most puzzing thing is the request for a disc in the middle of the installation. It does not identify what disc, but I assume it is referring to my 3.0 disc, or could it be asking for my XP disc?

PS checks for adequate scratch space, etc., before completing the reload.
I. E., it will get so far then quit loading.
Jim
Thanks.
