Why does photoshop display my greyscale image in a brownish tint? I am using a dual screen setup (one crt and one lcd). The same image displayed with another graphics program displays fine on the lcd. What calibration do I need to do for the lcd?

Thanks
Ray

I suggest that you go through the process of elmination, make sure that you have checked the following:

=> LCD Cabling is setup correctly
=> Drivers installed (check the website for the latest set of drives) => Make sure that you have selected a colour pallett for the monitor to use

If none of the above help then you should contact your LCD manufacturer.

Good Luck

This problem is specific to photoshop. Is the color pallete selection something that can be done in photoshop?

The problem is not a color palette; the problem is that the color profile for your monitor is screwed up.

One solution: turn off Photoshop’s color management. Better solution: make a new color profile for the monitor.

That depends on whether your main monitor is the LCD one or not. You can only profile one of the two monitors, which is why I asked which monitor you have profiled. If the answer is neither, then which is your primary and which is your secondary?
